3 Ways To Get The Most Out Of Your Music Lessons
Keep these pointers in mind in order to get the most out our your studies.

1. Create a plan with your teacher. Stick to it, but be flexible as to how long each practice section is. Get the tough stuff out of the way first, and assign time for free fun time at the end of the practice block.

2. Attitude and intention are key. Don't let perfectionism get in the way. Music is a journey, you are where you are. Breathe, relax, smile. Remember: No one ever died from a wrong note. And, as Miles Davis said: There are no mistakes.

3. Apply what you've learned: Play for others. Your friends, your family, at church. Nothing drives a music lesson home better than participating in a recital. It will also magnify what you need to work on.

These tips work whether your a child or an adult. Learning to play an instrument is a healthy activity at any age.
